Paint PrimersPriming walls and other surfaces, even those that have been previously painted is the most thorough method. Primer will stick to old paint a lot better than new paint will and sets the stage for a new color.
You don't always need primer, but some situations specifically call for it. We'll make sure to use it when the surface is bare wood or new drywall, the drywall surface is skim coated, the previous coat is glossy or when changing from dark to light colors.
